There are just a few days left until Independence Day. This special event is celebrated with beer and barbecues that leave you craving for more. And of course there is always room for dessert!

Perhaps you’re trying to lose a few pounds or you simply want to stay slim and keep your cholesterol levels within normal limits. No matter your reasons, try these healthy alternative desserts for this 4th of July!
Creamy Strawberry Crumble
Servings: 3-4
Ingredients
- 4 cups strawberries, cut into halves
- 1 tablespoon raw honey or stevia to taste
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons tapioca starch
Topping:
- 3 tablespoons raw honey or stevia to taste
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- A pinch of sea salt
- 1 cup almond flour
Directions
Combine together the lemon juice, raw honey, vanilla extract, tapioca starch, and strawberries in a mixing bowl.
Transfer the mixture to a baking pan.
Blend the topping ingredients and spread them over the strawberry mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes.
Let it cool and enjoy!
Red, White, and Blue Pizza
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 box brownie mix
Cream Cheese Topping
- 2-3 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raw honey or liquid stevia to taste
Directions
Mix the brownie ingredients until soft and creamy.
Spread the mixture over parchment paper in a round baking dish.
Bake at 350 F degrees for about 20 minutes.
Blend the vanilla extract, honey, and cream cheese until smooth.
Spread the mixture over the brownie crust.
Place the strawberries and blueberries over the mixture.
Cut into slices and enjoy!
Refreshing Fruit Cocktail
Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 1-2 peaches, sliced
- A handful of strawberries cut into wedges
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- Liquid stevia to taste
- Juice of two lemons
- 1 liter sparkling water
- Fresh mint leaves
- A couple ounces of red wine of vodka (optional)
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in a blender, add ice, and enjoy!
- Top with mint leaves if desired.
